Nuance to Hold Conversations Europe 2007 in Cannes
Nuance’s Speech Industry Customer Conference to Feature Dedicated Contact Centre, Mobile and Automotive Tracks; Nortel Commits to Principal Sponsorship
Belgium, Ghent – 13 March 2007 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that the second Conversations Europe event, an extension of Nuance’s annual speech conference in the US, will take place in Cannes, France from 24-26 April 2007.
Building on the success of the innovative mobile track of the US event in October 2006, Conversations Europe 2007 will also include two tracks focused on mobile and automotive speech solutions.
Conversations Europe 2007 is the company’s second regional conference, following eight successful years running a global event. Last year, Nuance held its first regional conference, in Spain, bringing the event to Europe for the first time. Conversations Europe will bring together Europe’s leading companies and speech experts, enabling peers to share ideas and best practices for launching effective speech services. Participants gain an understanding of new applications and partner roles and receive a behind-the-scenes look at Nuance’s speech initiatives. Attendees include individuals with a business or technical background representing companies that are new to speech or are expanding their speech strategy.
“Last year’s conference was a tremendous success and a milestone for our commitment to a significant and growing European customer base," said Peter Hauser, general manager and senior vice president, Nuance Communications International. “Building on this experience we will elevate our customer’s experience and will give our international customers and partners, as well as other industry leaders, an opportunity to network and discuss breakthrough speech technologies, services and languages that are most relevant to their business.”
David Taylor, the leading global authority on leadership, European Business Speaker of the Year and author of “The Naked Leader”, will be the featured keynote speaker at Conversation Europe. The contact centre customer keynote will be held this year by Florence Désert, responsible for Reservations and Call Centres for the French market for Air France. She will share how speech solutions currently elevate the customer service offering of one of the world’s leading air lines. Nokia will also present key papers in both the mobile and automotive tracks, explaining the role speech technology plays across Nokia’s breadth of offerings. The interactive mobile and automotive tracks will also feature presentations, roundtable discussions and case studies from a number of leading mobile carriers, automotive manufacturers, content providers, device manufacturers and thought leaders such as Gracenote, Parrot, Elektrobit, Canalys and Informa.
Confirmed sponsors for Conversations Europe 2007 to date include: Nortel as first Principal Sponsor; Aspect, Avaya, Cisco, ClickFox, Genesys and Ydilo as Supporting Sponsor; and Promptu and Teleatlas as sponsors of the Mobile and Automotive tracks.
Attendees will participate in numerous interactive sessions, led by Nuance customers and industry experts, covering four distinct tracks:
- Contact Centre Business – This track combines sessions on how to get the most out of speech investment through best practices in performance measurement and strategic planning.
- Contact Centre Technology – This track focuses on current and upcoming Nuance technology that delivers performance improvements for speech solution -- from the speech engines themselves to the dialogue management and development tools that support them.
- Mobile – This new track will let mobile carriers, content providers, and device manufacturers experience groundbreaking speech-driven applications, explore consumer preferences towards speech and hear how peers in mobile communications are already benefiting from speech technology.
- Automotive – This new track focuses on current and upcoming speech enabled applications in cars, and explores how car manufacturers, automotive equipment suppliers and portable navigation vendors successfully implement, deploy and market speech enabled automotive solutions.
