Nuance Showcases T9 Nav™ Predictive Search Service

CeBIT delegates can download T9 Nav to quickly access information, GSM features, applications and content on their phone

CeBIT, Hanover, March 3, 2008 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), the world’s leading supplier of speech, smart keypad and imaging solutions, today announced that a special trial edition of T9 Nav™, a mobile discovery solution that provides a fast way to access all features, applications and content on a mobile device in just a few key presses, is available for download by CeBIT attendees. Nuance will showcase T9 Nav at CeBIT 2008, the world's largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions, that will take place from 4-9 March 2008 in Hannover (hall 15, stand D29).

T9 Nav is simple and powerful mobile discovery software that significantly improves the mobile user experience by allowing users to bypass button-driven menu systems which often require complex combinations of key presses, offering a fast, direct and repeatable way to access features and content on the phone. It intelligently adapts to user behaviour over time, reordering and predicting frequently searched terms using the industry leading, patented algorithms from XT9/T9 software.

This special trial edition of T9 Nav showcases the basic functionality and customizable keyword feature of the software. Show delegates can easily find information and content on their phone by simply typing in the first few letters of what they are looking for. The trial edition is available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Using T9 Nav is extremely easy: for example typing "m-u" (i.e., "6-8") from the home screen of the phone takes the user directly to the music player application, a link to information on museums and the Nuance Communications exhibitor listing as well as other device features, content and applications beginning with those letters. T9 Nav also adapts to user behavior over time to provide customised search results based on frequently accessed features and content.

Nuance is planning to launch a commercially available download of T9 Nav on the Nuance website and various partner sites by the end of the second quarter 2008.
