LONDON, UK., July 9, 2009 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today introduced Nuance PDF Converter Professional 6, the newest release of its flagship desktop PDF solution. Developed to deliver “Better PDF for Business” this product removes the barriers to deploying a PDF solution on every employees’ desktop, for a third of the cost* of Adobe Acrobat. Providing all of the rich features that organisations need to create, edit, convert and share PDF, this latest release now includes: PDF Portfolios that enable paperless collaboration, and the embedding of multiple file-types and folders – including PDF and Microsoft Office documents, and even images and videos – into a single, PDF file with simple click and drag steps. Also new is the unique Document Assembly mode, which enables users to easily rearrange pages of a PDF document, add new content with drag-and-drop ease, and even renumber pages automatically within the newly assembled PDF document. A new PDF batch-processing feature allows users to collapse multiple editing tasks into a single click.

Nuance has also addressed the requirement for robust document security to protect sensitive data, with a 256-bit AES encryption algorithm, enabling users to control who can view, print or modify a document. Nuance has also integrated Microsoft SharePoint and enhanced its ECM and DMS connectivity in the Enterprise version of the product, making content management and document retrieval easier and more efficient.
